The Black Church Book Tour provides access to diverse books in underserved communities as well as unique literacy experiences and resources that boost literacy skills.
The OPERATION: R.E.A.D. Literacy Bus integrates literature based, standards driven activities to facility vocabulary growth through interactive storytelling, vocabulary building activities and distribution of books to build home libraries.
Our Parent and Family Workshops seeks to increase knowledge and skills, engage parents in strategies that build self-efficacy which is the foundation for strengthened home-school-community partnerships, and feeling a sense of community; all to support maximum student achievement.
The goal of our afterschool program is to close the achievement gap by providing Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) for children ages five through eleven, that offers homework help, small group tutoring, free supper and enrichment activities.
Eliminating the “book gap” globally compels us to distribute books to children to build libraries at home and create community reading spaces in places of need. This initiative gives us the platform to go anywhere in the world to provide this service
Our scope includes raising literacy levels from various perspectives. Consulting with schools, early learning centers, and any organization that serve children and families, to design effective parent-family-community initiatives creates a holistic approach to fulfilling our mission. Moreover, we have developed an Award Winning, Research Based Parent/Family Involvement Program that transformed family engagement across Broward County. This model can be adapted to meet the needs of various organizations.
